Kentico 8 - Adding custom fields to the user table

Paul Heywood asked on April 1, 2014 05:26

How do you add custom property fields to a user in the Kentico 8? We seem to have lost the ability in System Objects and Modules > classes appears to be locked down for existing modules.

Hi Paul, just navigate to Modules > Membership > Classes > User > Fields ;-)

This works well, but how do I export these fields? to deploy from development to staging? I have added custom fields to the Order Class. I tried going to sites and exporting the Module, in this instance Ecommerce and importing to staging but the new fields are not added in staging.

I'd like to extend this question: is there a way to extend a user class with custom fields, or make custom user classes so there are different types of users?

For example, one set of custom fields for Customer, another set of custom fields for Sales Representative, and another set for Sales Manager.

Thanks, Marcel
