Kentico 12 MVC Development Hosting in IIS

innovix solutions asked on February 3, 2019 15:14

Hi All,

What is the best way to host kentico 12 MVC model projects in IIS? Should we use main domain(www.aaa.com) for MVC prject front-end view and Back-end interface(admin.aaa.com) for subdomain?

I worry for setting up virtual directly will not be able to make SEO friendly urls?

Let me know your opinion. Thanks

I don't think you should care about SEO for administration - it is completely ok for admin to sit on sub domain.

I think what you suggesting is okay and this is how Kentico installer sets it up by default.

The one potential issue of such installation is that both apps share the same application pool, so they might impact performance of each other.
