Kentico 11 | Missing UI elements

Hello,

I installed Kentico 11 (patched to 11.0.1) and imported some of my Kentico 9 sites - just to test to see if it'll work for me. However, with fresh users and roles - I only have one user (the administrator/Global Admin) and no roles - I'm seeing UI elements missing in the admin. For example, on the "User", I don't see "Password" on the left pane. Additionally, on "Page Type", I don't see "Fields"... and "Roles" I don't see "Users".

I checked - and UI Personalization is off. I tried creating a role with UI Personalization on - with everything checked. That didn't work.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you just hit the Site import and uploaded a "Kentico 9" site export? Did this also include the modules you're now having issues with?

Kentico import can't handle imports from older versions. Believe it will even show a warning before you import. Didn't you get any error during the import itself? Since a lot of things changed I can imagine missing features if you just paste old logic onto it..

  • If you need this sites to go to K11 you'll have to go the official upgrade path! (K9 to K10 to K11)
  • If it's just for testing I think it's better to use one of the sample sites (Dancing Goat, Corporate Site).

Hi,
David is right - although you are able to import from older versions, you should do this with caution. The recommendation is to export at least one version back. The thing is that you have most likely imported objects from version 9 and overwritten the version 11 objects back to v9 state. And since there were bug changes, this could cause the issue you are seeing.
