Kentico 11, CMS.Controls missing dll

L B asked on April 12, 2018 02:59

Hi,

We are trying to start to make a website based on Kentico 11 using mixed ASPX/Portal setup but when we follow the tutorial: https://docs.kentico.com/k11/developing-websites/developing-websites-using-aspx-templates/creating-master-pages-for-aspx-templates

We can see that you use cms:CMSPortalManager which seems to be the base of the architecture. Searching on old project I can see that this is part of the CMS.Controls library. But after tried to re-download Kentico and re-Install the dll is not part of the package.

Did you change the Namespace/DLL name or it is just missing ? If it is missing can you please provide a way to get it as it seems to be the base of Kentico CMS.

Thanks, Cheers.

My Bad,

I found in the sample the Default master page has these ones already, the are not in CMS.Controls anymore but in CMS.PortalEngine .

I know you've already found your answer but I'd highly recommend going with portal mode and using web parts. Introducing aspx mode causes a lot of problems especially when you have to upgrade to another version. In 10 years I've not found a good project to use aspx on.
