I believe there is a difference between machines configuration...

Is there IIS installed on the machine where dropdown is missed? Are there any sites created under IIS?

Yes at the machine there is IIS installed, as there is no choice can be made at the drop down list, kentico will be installed into the default website. currently there is no sites created under IIS. Any idea what is wrong with the configuration of the IIS causes the dropdownlist to disappear?

Create web site at IIS and it should appear in that dropdown, or simply proceed with this dialog and see what happens.

As Roman stated, IIS must be installed, running AND you must have a website setup/configured AND running in order for the list to show anything. If one of these items is missing it will not show. Also, if you add the site AFTER you have opened KIM, it will not show in the list, you need to close KIM and re-open it.

Another option is you can skip that option and use the Prepare for installation on another server option and install in the directory of your choice. Then you'd need to register the site in IIS. Then you'd need to go back to the KIM and register the Kentico installation.

i have tried to create a new website in clientpc (eg.qweweb) in IIS and the list didnt appear as well, i tried it again the same method in my laptop and there is (qweweb) in my dropdownlist. both webiste is running as well when i run my KIM. The client pc must have block certain permission to access the created website in KIM. But i need to know what permission is not grant so that i can request from them. any idea?
