k12 Text Editor Widget

Zach Perry asked on November 29, 2018 15:18

Using the Text Editor inline editor that comes with the Dancing Goat MVC Install.

Any idea how to keep it from wrapping everything in <p> tags?

I thought it was the medium editor it is using, but can't figure out how its doing it. I tried replacing all the references to the paragraph tag to span just to see if it would use span instead, but no luck it is still wrapping in paragraph tag soon as you click to type.

Hi,
What are the settings in the config.js file for the editor (please see this thread)?
By default the enter key should create BR tags, shift enter creates P tags. Or, could you please describe the issue in more details? When I typed some content into the editor and saved it (without any enter key hit), I do not have the P tags added.

The Widget for K12 MVC doesn't use the CKEditor, it uses medium editor, which doesn't have a config file.

Hi Zach,
Thank you for the details, it makes more sense now.
The widget is just a sample to show how to create a widget with some editor. You have access to the widget code so you can change and replace the editor with the one which fits your needs or, you can develop your custom widget. Or, you can check the Medium Editor pages to see if there is a setting similar to the CK Editor settings.
