Is it possible to assign page type to page template

Hi,

I have created page template and page type separately. Is it possible to assign this page type to the specific page template. I don't see any option to do this. Any help pls.

Example: I have to assign about_us page type to the page template about_us

In the Page type definition (General tab) towards the bottom there is a section called New page settings. In there you can set a default page template anytime a new page is created.
