Insert variables from administration area into content

Den F asked on May 29, 2015 13:56

Hi there, I would like to know if there is a way of storing content in once place. Then allowing content editors to use these values within their content, using the WYSIWYG editor or a webpart etc.

For example, if we have setting for "value-added tax (VAT)", stored as "20%". We would like to just change this values in one place, to update content elsewhere.

Yes, the possibilities are endless. Custom Tables, custom functions, Macro's, etc. etc. Please give an exact design of what you need to do and we can assist.

Hi Charles thanks for your reply. My organisation has just switched over to using Kentico as a CMS around two weeks ago. So we are still learning about Kentico features. I been asked to investigate how to have a centralised list of variables that we can use in the content.

I know data can be stored in custom tables or modules with customs settings. The part I do not understand is how from a content editor perspective would they apply these values (e.g. through a webpart or macro)?

For example, if a custom table is created, what steps would be the basic needed?
