Hi,
I added a document scope that limits me to having only a few document types in a certain location. However, when I go to add documents in that location, I can still insert all document types.
What am I doing wrong?
Dear Yehuda,
You've found a bug. Document type scopes don't apply on documents with unicode characters in their names. They are of course supposed to apply and I've submitted the bug to our team of developpers. You've earned yourself a tree. What's more important for you is that this issue will be fixed in the seventh hotfix for Kentico 8.
We're very sorry for any inconvenience it causes at the moment.
Where are you setting the document scope? Are you sure that's not the template scope? To set what you see below specific document types, you have to go to the Child types under the document type you want to restrict/grant access there.
Yea, I went into Document Types application and added a scope. I attached an image showing how I've set it up.
(if it doesn't appear, you can see it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/281q2tz16w6gecr/Capture.PNG)
I think you only did part of what you need to do. You still need to set the Child/Allowed types on the document type. Follow the instructions here.
Well, I have a document type that is used in my site instead of the usual CMS.MenuItem. It can appear in many places, but in one place I want only certain document types to available as children. But the same documents appear regardless of the scope I specified.
Did you read the instructions link I posted previously? It has what you need to do in there. You have to set the Allowed types on the CMS.MenuItem doc type.
Yes, I read it before posting here, and I've also set the allowed types. That's not my problem. My problem is that I only want certain document types to be available under that tree node. That is the whole point of document scopes, no? Just like with template scopes.
Thanks Vilém
