How to connect Luke tool to a Smart Search Index?

Marcel Guldemond asked on September 20, 2016 16:03

This may be a stupid question, but I'm stumped about how to Open Lucene Index.

I've tried browse for index on a lot of folders, but if the indexes are in a database, how do you select one of those?

I've also tried exporting a smart search index to a zip file, but Open Lucene Index also doesn't work on any of the files or folders in there.

Thanks, marcel

They are usually located here:

\CMS\App_Data\CMSModules\SmartSearch\<indexname>\*.cfs

Does the Luke application window open when you doubleclick the .jar file? If so, you then simply open the index file from target location. If not, you need to install Java first.

Yes, it opens when I double click the .jar file, but how do I get an index file if our smart search indexes are in the kentico database?

Also should be noted, that Kentico 9 requires the latest version of Luke, the one you find first is like version 0.9, the latest is like 4.0 or something...you have to search around a bit to find it.
