How can I import Country and State during .csv Contact import?

I need to be able to import a .csv list of contacts that includes Country and State

I realize that the default behavior of Kentico is to only import and allow mappings of simple text fields (according to this - see Limitations and requirements).

However, I was wondering if there is another way I can achieve importing country and state. Is it possible to modify Kentico's Contact Import module to allow this? Is there a way to import contacts another way? Or would I have to develop a custom module to allow this?

You can try using the Kentico import toolkit to import the contacts. You will select that you want to import "objects" into certain site and then select the contact as the object type.
Another option would be creating a custom tool using the API and create the contacts using the code.
