I believe free Kentico licenses are no longer being offered. If you already use a free license, then you can continue to use it, but there will be no upgrade path to the newer versions of Kentico.

There was a blog post within the Partner Portal in December 2022, here.

Liam is right. Free edition has been discontinued and is no longer being offered at all.

Hey Juraj,

I think Kentico should definitely reconsider this decision. We have several clients that have a paid version of Kentico, but use the free edition for tiny microsites. It is a massive drawback for them if there is now no possibility of a microsite without paying for a full license for what might just be a website with a few pages.

I have a client we are working with now that are about to go down this route, so to suddenly learn this has been discontinued will mean we have to change tack.

@Luke - I would recommend reaching out to your account manager by sending a message to sales@kentico.com and they will help you with this.

This is a massive bummer, I was really looking forward to using the free version to tinker around on a website at home so I could apply what I learn while at work. We have an enterprise license through work, but I loved the idea of the free version for personal use. Sad to see that's gone.
