External link management

If an external URL is used in any page but the URL changes in the future is there an application such as a link manager in Kentico v8 that handles this so only the URL in the application would need to be updated rather than having to find all references?

Hi Jason. You should be able to achieve what you're looking for with custom global settings within a module. Check out this page from the docs: https://docs.kentico.com/display/K8/Adding+custom+website+settings

There isn't a link manager or anything like that. There are a few things you can do though:

Run a SQL query against the documents or page types to look for those URLs in the string fields
Check out the article Kentico MVP Brian McKeiver wrote on the tool Bizstream created for searching through Kentico.
Check out this article on how to replace content dynamically from Kentico's Technical Evangelist, Bryan Soltis. I think this might do the trick too.

I don't think a custom setting will work, you'd have to add one for each link you create.
