Email Template - Marketing. Email builder not working showing system error.

Hello All,

I am facing an issue while trying to create an email feed with a template. When I go to edit the template in the email builder section I get a system error as seen in the screenshot below. The documentation on this subject is minimal online so I couldn't find any solution for this. Maybe one of the steps I did was incorrect. If anyone is knowledgeable about this topic, please help.

The Event log should show you more details about whats happening.

Could be as simple as signing macros or a missing file...

Just go to the Event Log application, find your error and click the eye icon to show more details.

e.g.:

event log details

If that doesn't help you can you share the details of that item?

@David the Kloese The below image shows the only error I found in the log. I don't know what it means or if it is the same issue.

That's a warning, and probably not the same thing. Open the email template in one window and refresh the event log right after.

@David te Kloese I did so just now. No error appeared in the log yet I got the same page as the first screenshot.

Hmm odd..

Any script errors in your browser? Does this happen to all email builders or just this particular one? Did you change anything to the template config? Is there even an email template selected? Any dynamic elements on the template that might cause this? Can you reproduce it on another environment?

The settings and template are default didn't change a thing and I tried multiple settings. I tried deleting and recreating the process still not working. I tried 2 environments as I have a live environment and UAT for the website and both of them did not work.

Have you ever seen it working in that installation?

Any (script) errors in the network tool of your browser?

Do other users have the same issue? or on a different machine/location?

Salman,

Did you recently apply any upgrades or hotfixes?

Did you recently change the hash salt string in the web.config?

Have you tried resigning the macros? System > Macros > Resign

Thank you for your support and help. I have not changed anything from the default settings. I am working on an account that was created a while ago that hosts a website of the company I work at. I will try to reassign the macros but if it still does not work what would you recommend?
