duplicate instance for admin site

He Chao Dong asked on June 18, 2024 09:10

We use Azure as web service. Yesterday we have a lot request from third part website. Then Azure automatically added CPU instances for our admin site. In that time, admin site didn't work for our customer. So we want to check if duplicate instance for admin site is allowed. All duplicate instance will use same domain. If yes, why we cannot request our admin site in that time.

Well, the app was killed by the hosting environment probably. I would recommend making sure your setup is ready for web farms and autoscaling, you have appropriate license keys for given number of instances and so on.

What version of Kentico are you using? What does it mean did not work? Any errors in the Event log? It sounds like this was a web farm - adding instances connecting to one DB. So, check the documentation according to your Kentico version on the web farm setup + there is also a documentation on auto-scaling setup.

We are using Kentico 13. It didn't work mean if we request that url. We will get a blank page. After 20 mins, we can request it again. And I got these two errors in my Event log.

  1. Web application has ended Message: HostingEnvironment initiated shutdown HostingEnvironment caused shutdown
  2. Web farm server "Wn1mdwk0002BL admin' is not responding.

I check that document it seems if we using Azure there is no setting change needed from us.

Thanks for your helps.
