'Did you mean' functionality: customize words

On the searchpage we have a 'did you mean' functionality. This seems to automatically work (with smart search box, smart search filter and smart search result. However, the customer would like to have a custom list of words to use for this functionality. It seems as if this is automatically linked to the standard smart search index.

Can anyone help me with this?

I guess your customer is looking for synonym search

You can check with search assistance features checkout the various settings and configuration to enable search assistance.
