Deployment Question

Wajd Haikal asked on March 8, 2015 14:33

I have deployed 2 sites (free editions) on a shared hosting environment actually the same sites but different culture, the first one is on the main domain and the other on its sub domain, it worked but one site on the main domain keeps giving web farm feature not supported exceptions and causing the application pool of iis to automatically shutdown. How to overcome this issue because we are not doing a web farm and each site is different, what could be the cause of this issue and any suggested solution/s?

How did you declare the bindings of the (2) websites to IIS ?

its a shared hosting, and no specific binding but:

one is deployed on main domain and the other is on its sub domain both sites has separate database and separate files and of-course the webfarm feature is disabled on both sites, do I need to add any configuration to any web.config file as to overcome this problem?

Have you disabled all the webfarm components within the Settings and webfarm module? By default there are no settings in the web.config specified for web farms. There is a good chance if you imported a site that had some of those settings checked they would have been abled and causing the problems now. Also check your schedule tasks to ensure there are no web farm sync tasks running or scheduled to be run. As you might know, webfarm setup within Kentico is only available in Ultimate and EMS.
