Custom form control not submitting values

Custom form control not submitting it's value in editcontribution list webpart with alternative form when workflow is applied on page type. I have used custom image upload control,that value is not saved whenever I skipped save button action and directly go to submit for approval action. The custom form control value is saving if atleast one of the other control value is changed even in direct approval action step.

Is there anyplace you could upload your custom form control? Just in case there's something obvious that could be seen there that would cause this.

Is this custom form control in the webpart modifying the page itself (is a webpart modifying the page's form, even though it's in a webpart)?
