Content staging feature license

Youyou Chuang asked on July 19, 2022 09:06

hi all, We originally bought Kentico 11 Ultimate license. We'd like to use the Xperience 13 with this ultimate license, I want to know whether the content staging feature is supported by the Ultimate license? If not, Could you share some experience on how to sync content between testing and staging environments? Thank you in advance!

Hi Juraj, Thanks for your response! I have read related docs to know that the Ultimate license doesn't support the "Web farm" feature. When I try to configure the Content Staging, it doesn't display the "Servers" tab within Staging application as doc mentioned.

https://docs.xperience.io/deploying-websites/content-staging/configuring-content-staging#Configuringcontentstaging-Configuringthetargetservers

So I assume we can't use the Staging feature with the Ultimate license. The document mentions that we need to choose a server or create a new server, but we are not able to see those options.

Web farms is a different feature. If the staging was not supported in the Ultimate edition, you won't see the module at all. If you do not see just the Servers tab, this indicates issues with macros? Are there any errors in the Event log? I would say there will be macro resolver errors. In this case try re-signing macros. I just tested my instance with Ultimate license key and staging is available just fine.
