Cannot create transform - Please enter transformation name in identifier format.

I am trying to create a transform for a newly created document type - Company.Person

When I name it I keep getting an error - The entered values cannot be saved. Please see the fields below for details. Transformation name: Please enter transformation name in identifier format.

I'm not sure what is the issue here and a Google search didn't result in anything too helpful.

Any help is much appreciated, see the attached screen shot.

In the end it was due to my macro signatures not being valid. I found that the 'CMSHashStringSalt' key pair in web.config had been commented out. Uncommenting it revalidated the signatures and I could then save new transformations.

Do you have any spaces before or after the name? If so, remove them.
