Bug in Kentico 9 ?

John Smith asked on August 19, 2017 01:16

Hello,

I noticed that, if you use the Rich Text web part on a certain page, if you visit the page you are editing with ?viewmode=0 (i.e clicking Live site button) Then save your changes in the web part those changes do not take affect, most likely because of caching going on. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried setting the web part's CacheMinutes property to 0 but this did not work.

Thanks,

What version of 9 are you on?

Secondly, there could be caching set in IIS which is separate from Kentico causing which could be causing issues.

Lastly, if you have workflow enabled, are you fully publishing the page to see the changes?

To test a fix, clear the cache in the System app after you publish the page and see if still has old content.

  • 9.0.50 (Latest hotfix)

  • No caching

  • No, i'm just saving the page. It works everytime unless right after I view the page in live site viewode=0 query string parameter

To test a fix, clear the cache in the System app after you publish the page and see if still has old content.

  • Issue still occurred if I go to the live site page and then clear cache and then save my change in the web part.

What is weird is after it doesn't work adn the page reloads I then go back in and make the same change and the change persists after saving.
