Blog Post Comment Style

Is it possible to custom style a blog post comment without directly changing the Blog Controls classes in the CMSModules folder?

Yes, simply apply CSS to it. If you look at the rendered html, you'll see there are classes and such already applied in which you can set your styles to. If you want to apply a custom layout, you can create a custom webpart layout for the comments and use that.
