Attachment name changes.

Hi, I am using the attachment web-part on one of my pages, if I click on the attachment to view or download depending on what the attachment is, the attached file name changes sometimes, is they a way to stop this from happening so that the file keeps its original name?

CMS version: 7.0 Build: 7.0.5088 OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1

The link for the file uses the attachments GUID. The name of the attachment is simply a property of the field and only used for display purposes. The attachment is actually stored and displayed using the GUID that is created for that attachment.

If you don't want this to happen then you should consider using the media library or a custom document type.

Agree with Brenden, and recommend you to use media library with file Direct path (it always generate file path with original file name.)
