We would like to change system System Settings within our Kentico application 8.2.48. Is it recommended to do an Application and Database backup before making these changes?
For those settings, no worries. If you were going to change the number of versions you saved for version history, that might be another story as Kentico will remove items from the database if you make numbers smaller.

As a System Administrator we would like to change a couple of settings. We would like to check the Settings>System>Performance>CSS Styles "Combine CSS from components". Settings>Urls and SEO> SEO - URLS, set the Default Page to "Use domain root".
