Is there a way in portal mode to give users the ability to add content.

Essentially what I want is to be able to have a user maintain their own sections of the site. (without logging into the cms or being a cms editor) What I would like is to be able to give them the ability to add documents based document types that I set up.

Is there an example of something like this in any of the default kentico sites?
