Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hello,
I've found recently that facebook connect webpart stopped work in IE. I use Kentico v6.0.49. This webpart works fine in other browsers and it used to work in IE as well (it's not "localhost" problem - it doesn't work on live website). Sometimes the login button is unclickable, sometimes the facebook window appears and dissapears in 1 sec.
Is is fixed in latest hotfixes?
Thanks, Dmitry

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hi, There were also some changes on the FB side - they changed the API and we had to change our web part too. Anyway, I would recommend applying the latest hotfix or even better upgrade to version 7. Or, another option is to review the FB connect web part code and modify it to fit the current FB API. Best regards, Juraj Ondrus

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hello Juraj,
Thank you for the response. So do you know whether Kentico hotfixes after v6.0.49 contain bugfix for this issue? I've checked Kentico hotfixes logs and there is nothing about facebook. I thought that Kentico support should be sure if some version of the CMS works fine or not. I've applied the latest hotfix for v6 and nothing was changed for Facebook connect webpart.
Obviously I can change webpart code for the current FB API, but we pay for the CMS to avoid such additional work.
I'll check the facebook connect webpart for version 7. Hope it works fine.
Regards, Dmitry

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hello Juraj,
I've set up Kentico 7 website with the latest hotfix (16). Facebook Connect login button doesn't work in IE.
Could you please confirm that it should work in some Kentico version?
Thanks, Dmitry

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hi,
Yes, it is working fine on v7 and also on v6 with latest hotfix. Have you tried using e.g. Firebug? Are there any javascript errors or styling issues?
Best regards, Juraj Ondrus

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hi,
Thanks for the response. Yes I tried, not any js errors. And as I said - it works in FF, Chrome and Safari. Could you please post the result js code, which you have in testing? (from methods GetFacebookInitScriptForSite and GetFacebookLoginHandlerScript ofr FacebookConnectHelper - FB.init and Facebook_login function).
Thanks, Dmitry

Hi,
Please note: The forums are currently intended for Kentico community. Although we monitor them time to time, we cannot guarantee a timely response.
However, you sent us a support ticket which was already resolved - it seems that FB had some issues. It worked fine for me all the time - and now it works for you, right? Could you please confirm?
Best regards, Juraj Ondrus

RE:Facebook Connect Webpart doesn't work in IE
Hi,
I've noted that. I was just surprised that you answered with enthusiasm at start and than disappeared.
Yes, it's strange that it didn't work for me, but worked for you. Anyway it looks like FB issue, which has been resolved by FB team.
Thanks for your help! Dmitry

Hi,
As it is stated above, we are monitoring forums from time to time - some days are slow so, there is more time to be spend on forums but some days are really busy and we have to answer the tickets we have in the queue :-)
