Bugtracker – the new section on the DevNet portal
In this blog post, I would like to introduce a new section of our DevNet portal, the Bugtracker. And also a few notes related to frequent questions which you have asked in the past weeks.
In the
Bugtracker section, you can see a list of known bugs in a certain version. You can see there a short description of the bug and also its status – if the hotfix is available or if it will be fixed in the next version.
If the hotfix is available, you can download the hotfix package on the right. The hotfix package contains fixes for all bugs with
no workaround. In the package, you can find all appropriate files and also an instructions document with list of all fixed bugs and steps how to apply it. The hotfix will be published every Monday in case new bugs (where no workaround is possible) were discovered in the week before.
If you need a hotfix for your source code solution (if you purchased the source code license), please contact our support and we will send you the packages.
Please note: The hotfix package is available only for latest version of Kentico
CMS.
Another thing I want to tell you about is that if you are using IIS6 and you want to use Google Sitemap (XML), please do not set the IIS to handle the “
.xml” extension with .Net framework. This could lead to problems with the WYSIWYG editor. You need to set the 404 handler for this extension in the same way as it is described in the
extension-less URLs configuration.
From time to time (mostly not during the support hours) we receive a voice message from you. I would like to kindly ask you to mention your name and/or company name and phone number, so that we can call you back (or send an e-mail). Also, a short description of the problem would be appreciated.
In the last couple of weeks, we were asked for the compatibility with
GoDaddy hosting. Fortunately, one customer of ours (Mike Fawn) and one evaluator (David) have provided us with their accounts on GoDaddy so that we were able to test it (Thank you guys – we really appreciate it!). One test was successful without any problem and right now I am trying a second attempt to prove it. The FTP is quite slow, but I hope that by the beginning of the next week, there will be a new Knowledge base article about the installation on GoDaddy (and not only this article, but also few others).
One more thing I’d like to mention. We have updated the online Developer’s guide documentation so the links to the articles are more user-friendly now. We have checked existing articles and posts on the DevNet portal, but if you will find some broken link to Developer’s guide, please let us know and we will fix it. Thank you.
That’s all for now, if there is anything new, I will let you know.
