System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi there,

I upgraded to the latest version of Kentico with hotfixes, so I am running v6.0.4329. Since I upgraded, I continually get an error message "The dialog parameters are not consistent, please try to reopen the dialog." when I try to open a dialog window (whether choosing content, doc types in a web part form, etc, etc - doesn't matter). It happens randomly and I am required to reopen the dialog several times before it shows me what I need. Is there a workaround for this issue?

thanks,
Jarlen

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

Could you please describe us the upgrade path?
There was a bug in version 5.5 which was already fixed and I have not seen this issue since then nor in version 6.
More details would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
I am also seeing this on a site upgraded from 6.0.36 to 6.0.39, but only when I try to edit a style sheet in the theme directory.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

could you please grant us with an access to your site and send it to support@kentico.com.

In 6.0 version nobody reported this issue. Could you please also describe in more details how we could reproduce it, i.e.

1. In which browser we should try to open the dialog.
2. Are you using any plugins in your browser?
3. Do you have any customizations in your project?
4. Do you have any custom java scripts in your project?
5. Are you using proxy, web farms, ssl?
6. Was the upgrade successful?

Thank you for information.

Best regards,
Ivana Tomanickova

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Sorry for the delay in responding, the issue resolved itself for me. Not sure how, but I haven't experienced the problem again.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Juraj:

I've experienced this as well. I initially started with a new 6.0 website, went through the hotfixes and upgraded to SP1 using the KIM and when I tried to update from hotfix 38 to 39, received an error. So I exported my site, downloaded v6 SP1 and did a fresh install. Updated all the hotfixes to 38, imported my site and everything ran just fine. Then went to install the rest of the hotfixes (39-44). Installed 39 without error, ran the website and attempted to add a new file document type under a page document type and when I select the file to upload I get the error message "The page parameters are not consistent, please try to reopen the page."

From what I've tested it seems to happen anywhere I try to upload a file.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
The only way I was able to upload the images was to go to CMSDesk>Tools>File Import>Import from server disk and selected all the files in the CMSImportFiles folder.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

does this issue appears in all browsers?

I tried to apply the hotfix 39, but I am still able to upload files on the Form tab, without any error message.

If you open some debug console, can you see some additional information about the error message?

Is something in the Event log?

P.S. According to your description it seems that you were applying hotfixes one by one. I am not sure if it was for debugging purposes or not, so just to be sure that you now it: You can apply the latest hotfix immediately, i.e. you do not need to apply the older hotfixes.

This is needed only for upgrades.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
As my initial description mentioned, the ONLY way I was able to get it to work properly was to use Forms and upload a file from there. I cannot do it from within the content tree or anywhere else.

Did not know that about the hotfixes, makes for a time saving when performing those updates, thanks for the info!

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

and have you checked if there is some error on the page using Firebug or some other debug console?

Please try to also apply the latest hotfix, maybe it will help.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Using Firebug I get two js ReferenceErrors: reference to undefined property menuTimers[n] and reference to undefined property a.name.

I've applied hotfix 44 and no help.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

we were able to reproduce this error on one customer's backup. It was reported as a bug so it should be fixed next week. In case it will not I will add here an update or possible workaround.

RE:System Error: Failed to load dialog parameters
Hi,

on other customer's backup was issue related to the Upload extensions property is the Site Manager - Settings - System files.

There was used incorrect separator between extensions, i.e. , instead of ;

Could you please check if this property is configured correctly in your environment?

Best regards,
Ivana Tomanickova
