How to Create News, Jobs openings, Events from Desktop App

Hi sirs, Im developing a desktop application for creating News, Jobs openings, Events. Im a beginner in Kentico and i dont know how i could do this task, please can you explain me where is the kentico api and what is the correct procedure to do this.

I will appreciate your help.

Postdata: The kentico cms portal is already published by a friend, rigth now i have no access no the iis server where is published the CMS portal, please tell me if i need to get access to some files in the server.

Hello,

I assume you try to create different documents in Kentico (e.g. of type News, Job...). The approach on creating any new document is the same. You can find some examples in our developer's guide here and here if you are using workflow.

You will need to run this code within the Kentico application so you will need to have access to it directly during development. Or you will need to have at least a test environment on your local PC. For more information about our API please check our API reference.

Hello Boris,

I appreciate your help. But i am beginner with kentico i do not install the portal that i need to manage with my desktop application, so please can you tell me step by step what should i do?

I develop a desktop app with Winforms 4 and WPF 4, by that way i am getting the information that i need for the documents that will be published, but i dont know where is the API's dlls how i add them to my Winform's project, and how my app connect to the kentico database, the example that you gave me shows only the code to publish a document but, where is the connection strings? where are the API's dll?

To use Kentico API outside Kentico please check this documentation.
Please check if you have all system requirements met before you install Kentico. To install Kentico please check the following link. All the DLLs are located in the bin folder of the application.
