When adding a widget i created from Tutorial Core 500 Internal Server Error

Simon Delisle asked on September 26, 2023 17:35

I get an 500 Internal Server Error when I try to add a widget I created in c# code into my Admin Edit. This seems to be a bug in both Tutorials. how can I fix it so I can be able to add my widget and finally test it!

Heya Simon

Could you post the exception details? You should be able to find them in the Event log, right after you try to add the widget

Hey Simon,

Thanks, I mean though from the CMS/Admin 'Event Log' screen, which should look something like this: https://docs.xperience.io/k10/developing-websites/troubleshooting-websites/working-with-the-system-event-log

There should hopefully be a more informative piece of info in red for your error there.

Hey again

You should have access to the Event log even in a trial version. Where you would find the Settings (On the kentico icon on the top left that brings out a navigation panel), you should also find an Event log

See here; https://ibb.co/MBdsg0F

If you cant see that then you might need to login as a Global Administrator
