hi

our Kentico subscription got renewed last week, but our existing site's licenses did not get automictically updated to new expiry date of 2023.Can you help me understand how the existing site licenses get updated basis subscription renewal?

thanks ruchika

What version of Kentico are you using?

In Kentico Xperience 13 there's a scheduled task that should be checking for license renewals, see here.

I think this was added in KX13, so if you're on an earlier version that would explain why it didn't automatically update.

It also wouldn't update if you've only just switched from perpetual license to subscription license.

Yes that would explain it then, you need to upgrade to Kentico Xperience 13 to gain this bit of functionality.

By upgrading to Kentico Xperience 13, you'd also gain other features from the latest refreshes, and also opens up the possibility of using .NET Core rather than .NET Framework for your presentation website.

To replace your license key in Kentico 12, you need to open up the Licenses application in the admin interface and add your new license in there.

Thanks Liam.

For now I have re-generated the license keys to fix the issue, hopefully we should be switching to Kentico-13 in another 3-4 months.

thanks ruchika
