Strange The IListSource does not contain any data sources on home page

Getting this strange error on the homepage, from stack trace looks like some webpart is failing but cannot figure out what, has anybody been in a similar situation ?

Is there any custom web part placed on your home page? Or any data source web part for which you did not specify source?

@Arun the design view goes into safe mode so I cannot see what is missing on the webpart.
