Smart search MVC extra filters

How to use documents fields like [DocumentPublishFrom], DocumentKeywords as filters for local search index defined for specific page type

I can use the searchable fields on the page type definition but how to add extra filters from the document fields or other custom ones

You can add system fields into your page type and uncheck the ability to display it in the page content. You would then be able to use that field as a searchable for the search.

EDIT: I just noticed even added system fields do not show up, sorry so my answer doesn't apply. That's a weird one.
