Smart search index restore

I have made a change to the smart search index I am using to allow some content to be searchable using a smart search filter, however when I try to rebuild the index it fails. So I try to restore a previous version using the back up functionality, but in Kentico it still states that a rebuild is needed.

So how do I restore to a previous index ?

And how do I rebuild the index ?

Hi Philip,

This might be permission issue.

Try to grant write permission to ~\App_Data\CMSModules\SmartSearch\ folder and its sub folders and then rebuild your index.
