Smart search filter

paul carter asked on October 22, 2019 11:23

I was just wondering when i perform a smart search based on categories, i have a page which has two editable regions. The search seems to always choose The first paragraph from the second editable text box. Is there a reason behind this behaviour, and can it be modified?

Is your search working without applying "category condition"? and search by categories you mean faceted search right? I would also look inside the index using luke. Make sure that your index is working without categories and both editable regions are searchable. Technically you can't exclude from index certain regions, unless you build some custom index with custom logic. if page is in the index - both regions should be there as well.

I have two dropdown search filters, one is based on categories and the other is based on tags, I have just tried the tags dropdown without the categories, and the search works. I have rebuilt the index, but still getting the same results. I have installed the Lucene toolbox. and get the following error when trying to open the search index folder. I have also tested the toolbox on the corporate site folder, on my laptop, and this opens the indexes fine ??

Invalid directory at the location, check console for more information. Last exception: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\p.carter\Desktop\SiteSearch\segments_65t (The system cannot find the file specified)
