Media dialog UI personalization

Jon White asked on July 29, 2015 17:14

Hi,

I am developing an intranet, on the forums I have the 'advanced dialog' selected for when a user wants to add an image.

It opens up the media dialog window with the four tabs: attachments, content, media libraries, web.

Can I change this so users only see the 'media libraries' tab within it?

I've played with UI Personalization but it doesn't seem to work on the live site, is this only within the cmsdesk? Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance, Jon

Jon,

I can assume this is a field of either page type or a form. Let's say your using some page type. Go to Page Types application under administration, click edit next to your page type, open fields tab and navigate that field. URL selector should be used as control for that field. In field options form you should see Configure link next to Dialog configuration property. Click and you'll get settings you're looking for.

Hi Roman,

Sorry I should have clarified, this is for the forum post when used with WYSIWYG editor.

There is only options for simple or advanced dialog - simple is not right as it seems to only give a URL entry (?!), then there's the advanced which is what i'm speaking of, I like the dialog just not the four options of uploading, i think it's confusing to users. I'd like to restrict them to upload within just one tab i.e. media libraries.

Thanks Jon

Jon,

There is the way to configure what buttons/features are available in the WYSIWYG, but I've never heard about possibility to configure settings of those buttons/features.

Here are some details on WYSIWYG configurations: https://docs.kentico.com/display/K8/Personalizing+the+editor+toolbars+and+buttons
