Latest News Paging

So in the web part properties for the "Latest News" web part there is a section to enable Paging . I've enabled it (by checking the box) but it doesn't seem to be adding anything... Is there a guide on how to configure this correctly available? The documentation on filtering and paging didn't seem to apply to this particular web part (https://docs.kentico.com/display/K81/Filtering+and+paging+data). Plus I tried adding the universal pager to no effect...
