Kentico SEO

Jeewani Jayasuriya asked on August 21, 2020 11:57

Hi,

I am new to Kentico. If I want to do some SEO for a specific page on my website what's the best way to do it?

I have read the documentation but it's not very clear. I checked on "Metadata" tab in that page I can see all the check boxes are ticked with Inherit option.

What should I enter under Page settings and Tags in Metadata page.

Hi Jeewani,

There is a bunch of fields on Metadata tab, you are correct. These out-of-the-box fields can be used to store this data. However, it's not always the case. How these fields are used for presentation is heavily dependant on how developers implemented this feature. For example, Kentico can store "Page description" but it will be up to a developer how to embed this information into a page head element.

The approach will also be different depending on the Kentico version you are using and Portal Engine or MVC. Could you provide this information?

Thank you Dimitry. Site was developed using Kentico 10 portal engine. Is it possible to have a zoom session?

Thanks!

Not sure about the zoom session with the workload at the moment, but I can invite you to Kentico community Slack channel where it should be easier to chat and there are other experienced guys who can join the conversation. Please share your email and I can send you the invite (you can do it here or via my linkedin or twitter in profile to avoid posting publically).
