Kentico 11 smart search. Redirect to the most relevant search result after pressing the "search" but

Targutai Yesugei asked on May 14, 2020 14:17

Hello! I've just set up my predictive smart search on my custom page type as described there

Now I want search box to redirect me to the most relevant search result after pressing the "search" button. So, if I have "Foo bar" titled page and entered the "Foo", it should redirect me to "Foo bar" page after pressing the search button. Do Kentico smart search have such functionality OOTB?

I hope that everything is clear, thank you in advance. I'm using Kentico 11, portal pages.

What you want Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" Button functionality but in the prediction results. To my knowledge does not exists OOTB. And it might take some effort to do that. Unless you are searching in a very specific subset (let say search only products) - not so sure if it's worth it. i'd rather collected user search results and to prove the point that for example 90% of your users always click the first result. By default it gives you suggestions in text format. There is topic here You probably have to write you own service to query Lucene (not sure if it has such functionality i.e. return suggestion+some data, probably Solr can).
