We use variant options for most of the products, we noticed that a SKU number search on the front end using an index with the page types of the products yields no results. Works fine in the admin's Products App.
I went into the Variant Option class in the E-Commerce module and the Search is disabled, I enabled it an added the VariantSKU to the list of fields, rebuilt the index of the product page types, but still yields no results.
I assume that I would need to create a new index to target the Variant Option class directly, however how would one go about getting the parent product? Only by custom code? Is this the advised method of achieving variant option's sku searches?
