Importing a Site

When I am trying to import a site various items are getting in the same order like, Departments are not created as in the previous site, Logon page is showing the whole menu items. etc. Can anyone suggest why is this happening ??

Sounds like some of the settings are not being imported with the site. When doing the import, drill down into the different objects you are importing and make sure the appropriate boxes are checked. Also check the event log to see if there were any errors associated with the import.
