How to update the content of exist pages through importing?

I'm trying to update the content of exist pages from local site to live site.So I exported my site and imported to live site but the exist pages don't update the content and settings that I inputted. Please help me, thanks.

Like Chetan said, use Staging for tasks like this - it makes live easier and it is designed for this type of tasks.

Please check your importing process make sure all objects associated with pages are also exported and part of the new settings. For example if you have a new field on a page that you would like to see then make sure the corresponding Page type/object is also updated on the new server.
Did you perform the fresh import of the website or did you overwrite on the exisiting wesbite?
FInally, did you try using Kentico's staging feature to sync websites between two servers?
