Emailing form data

Sherri Guthrie asked on September 17, 2015 17:24

I want to use the option to send a Notification email from a form. I noticed the form data is sitting in my email queue. This is probably because in the Scheduled tasks, the Send queued emails task is disabled. I think it was disabled because another task was created to send out a Dynamic Newsletter daily. If I enable the Send queued emails, will there be any conflicts with the existing scheduled task?

BTW, the Send Dynamic Newsletter tasks is a System task.

I wouldn't think this would cause any issues. Did someone set the Send Queued Email task to disabled? Either way, I think sending those emails would be ok, as long as the date wasn't from months ago, then the user may have some questions.

I think the Send Queued Email task was set to disabled when the Newsletter task was set up. The reasoning behind it is because we backup to a DR site every night. We weren't sure if the emails would be duplicated so we disabled it to avoid any issues.

In your other site, why not just keep it the exact same and reset the smtp server settings to the default, that way no email will be sent out of your staging site or recovery site, but all the data will still be there.

I would have to reset the settings daily. The restore is to another server. To 'activate' the DR server, I have to go in an update the licensing information and site information. Would the scheduled tasks run if the site and license information was not updated? If not, I am good.
