Custom Table Data Import Web Part

Edyta Jordan asked on June 9, 2016 19:06

Hello, I downloaded web part - Custom Table Data Import. When I select import Excel file, it tells me that the import was successful, but no data is being entered in my custom table. If I manually enter some data into the table and then upload Excel file and click "overwrite" button, it removes the data from the table, but no rows from Excel file get inserted.

Hi Dennis,

It was actually my error. The web part is asking to input an Excel file tab (in the "Enter Sheet Name" field). You need to put it exactly how you named it in your Excel File. I had accidently copied some white spaces that's why it was failing.

Hi Jan,

Are you getting any error messages? Can you send a link to the page with your webpart?

Hi Edyta,

The eventlog said Message: The file '/CMSWebParts/MyWebParts/CustomTableDataImport.ascx' does not exist.

The file is not there. I checked. Wy didn't the import installed the file? Is there a way to install the file manually?

Hi Jan, maybe you have already solved the problem by yourself but this could be helpful also for someone else in the future: The error "The file XY does not exists" usually appears when the web part files were not imported properly. Try to import the web part again and tick the "Import code files" check box in the Step 2 of the import process.
