Automatically open a part of the tree for a user

I am just wondering if there is a way to automatically open and go to a part of the tree when a user clicks on the Pages App. I was just thinking it would be convenient for the end user to always go to there default section of our site.

At the bottom of general settings for a given user there is starting alias path

but it will also restrict user to this sub tree only if I am not mistaken. There is a topic on that

oh, I see. I just tried it and it does restrict. But, that could work for some of my more basic users that will only ever update one area of the tree.
