Facts: Archive emails setting is set to 7 days
As per this documentation, "Successfully sent emails are displayed on the Sent emails tab for the number of days specified by the Archive emails (days) option in Settings -> System -> Emails."
Problem: Sent emails list is always growing without flushing 7 days older emails. What is the problem?
Never mind, for some reason, the "Clean email queue" task seems to be missing.
We recently migrated from K7 to K9 and that might be the issue.
I'll try to "resave" the setting and I'll keep you posted
Go to tasks and check when "Clean email queue" was executed the last time.
