I understand. You are right that it is not complicated at all, however you defined 2 conditions:

- No need to replace or delete the Kentico favicon.ico (what is the simplest way with no need of custom web part)

- Without need of writing it in head of Masterpage

So, you excluded two the easiest ways :)

To see all options, beside 3 I already mentioned (replace current favicon.ico, write it into head section, use web part), you can see e.g. following blog post dealing with that issue, or search devnet. You will find many links dealing with this issue. Thank you.
