Upgrading License Keys

I'm getting ready to upgrade my Kentico across 3 different instances, and I know that I will have to delete the v6 keys and add the v7 keys.... but I'm lazy. :)

Is there a way to do a mass install of all v7 keys for your instances and sites? I ask because I have approximately 85-100 keys that I will have to install, and I don't want to loose my mind.

I'm thinking that I can prepare a SQL Script that can be manually run, but I'd like to stick within the system parameters if possible.

Hello,

We typically avoid making changes directly in the database as a small mistake could end up causing significant issues. However, you should be able to accomplish this through the API. If you download the API Reference and take a look at the CMS.LicenseProvider namespace, you will be able to look through the available methods for working with keys. If you have specific questions about any of the methods, please let me know.

I'm looking through the API, as well as looking at some of the other functions in the CMSModules folder, and I'll probably plan on doing a file or something to complete what needs to be done.

However, if there is a better way to upgrade ALL license keys without having to do something custom, that would very helpful. As it is, I'm looking at having to do 100 keys, which will leave the site down for far too long for my client's taste.

Has anyone done something similar to this?

Hello,

I am afraid that all clients that had an interest in this feature ultimately designed their own process for replacing the keys. However, this feature was requested on the Kentico Uservoice and gained enough votes to get included in the next version of Kentico. Unfortunately, until the next version comes out, creating a custom process will be unavoidable.
