Data limitations of custom tables

What are the size limitation of custom tables and structored data? We are concerned that if we use custom tables that they will not be efficient in the long run from an enterprise standpoint.

Our concern stems from documentation that we found that states that large data standard document type in a structored data set custom table are not effiecient. http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/index.html?custom_tables_module_overview.htm

Hi,

That sentence is talking about documents not custom tables. However, how many items you are expecting? Kentico was tested with millions of documents in the content tree - various document types and it worked well, however, it depends what exactly you will be doing with the data and so on. So, even using custom tables might have some negative impact. It is hard to tell without knowing the project.
