content subscription webpart

I'm having an issue getting the content subscription webpart to work.

I want to subscribe users to new CMS.News items that are children of the page I have the content subscription webpart set up on.
Using the following settings, no emails appear in the Email Queue (nor in my inbox).

I get emails from other parts of the site, as well as from the send email form in site manager, so I know that my email settings are correct.

Hello,

Would it be possible to provide a screenshot of your settings under Site Manager > Development > Notifications > [edit]Email Gateway?

Please verify that the gateway is enabled, that the dll exists in the Bin folder, and that it supports HTML templates as specified in the Web part properties. I have tested this in the latest hotfix for version 7 so if you are configuring this on a different hotfix, please let me know so that I could check for any bugs.
